Once again this year the American Legion Post in Milford is looking for Jeeps to volunteer to take part in their annual Memorial Day Parade.  You would be volunteering to drive the parade route with a veteran or veterans that are unable to walk the parade route due to their age or disability.  A bunch of us from WLB particpated last year and it was a very moving and rewarding experience.  If you are interested in helping out, show up Monday morning at the American legion hall at 9:30am.

I think last year we got there around the same time and finished up by maybe 1:00 or so.

Love to, however we will be in the UP this year.  Be there in spirit.

Unless I get someone to cover my on-call Monday which is unlikely I will not be there :( I am pretty bummed out about it too. It was an honor to be there last year.

We plan to be there rain or shine

I am thinking leave at 8:30, get some mcdonalds by my house, and then head down... If you want to roll down together, we could meet at the mcdonalds on Court & Belsay about 8:40.

Thanks to Paul & Jonathon, Dave & Suzanne, Russ, Cameron, Ken, Chris, Ed Stamper (and me) for making it down for the parade this morning.  Ed Stamper showed up with his Cherokee as did our recent guest Travis Pike and both were turned away as they only wanted "wrangler" style Jeeps.  Sorry guys, that was never communicated to me... maybe it was part of the instructions last year and they just assumed we knew that.  A lot more Jeeps showed up this year and Paul and Chris actually wound up without anyone to escort, so they headed home early... Parade route was not quite as packed as last year but still an awesome crowd and a great event.

Did Ryan T. get ahold of you? I know he planned on going but didn't  see his name on the roster.

He had something come up last night and had to cancel... Something about bull-headed in-laws?
