Title: 4 High...
Post by: naypalm on June 08, 2008, 08:01:26 PM
Last night during the downpour we had, I decided to test out my 4H considering silver lakes not too far off. Well when i kicked it in, it started to grind real bad and then it acted like it was in neutral. So i pulled over and put 2wd back on and i could drive again.

Well today I tried using it again at doogies dollar here in town and it sounded strange, and just didnt feel right. I took a few laps around the parking lot and it felt like the power wasnt there... and I had to give it gas to get 'er moving.  For fear of effing somthing up, i put it back in 2wd and went home. I didn't test out 4L.

Hope my tranny aint screwing up, i was hoping on taking the xj to sl. :(

Linkage might be out of wack.

I am with Nosilla with the linkage. When I put pull my lever to fast or just a hair to far back, my transfer case makes the sounds you have mentioned.

Sounds pretty easy from what I've searched up on google. I'll have to mess around with it next weekend.
