Lets go wheel. Sunday October 21st in West barnch. My plan is to take off from the wal mart parking lot at 12 (noon) Wheel till about 5 or 6 then catch dinner in town then head for home.
So bring some snacks and drinks for the trail and maybe even a camera. Should be a good time for the whole family.we are going to GPS some of the trails while we are there also to give to GLFWDA to help aid in getting more ORV route miles in Michigan.
See you guys and gals up there then.
if I have my jeep back by then, and if you will allow me to tag along, I will more than likely join yall up there.
Which Wal-Mart parking lot are you talking about leaving from?
We might be able to make this one. I'll check with the War Counsil. Hey Neil, you don't plan on wheeling for very long do ya? That is unless your talking about the Yall-mart in Westbranch.
Yes i am talking about the wal mart in west branch. Pull out of that 1 at noon.
Cody, all members should be there. this was set up for as a club trip.
I should be there. My Jeep *should* be back up and running by then! Yay!
And, like Neil said, this counts as an Event (as voted by the members who were at the meeting yesterday), which will allow several people to be voted on at the next meeting to join our club.

Heh, so does Chris
I think we are planning to do this one as well. We'll see how the kids do as that may be a long day for them.
Deb's hoping to arrive in something yellow for this trip
I'm gonna be there, I just hope the family will be joining me!! :D
Have a couple questions about this trail ride. Not sure if you mapped out our route yet, but will there be any traveling for a long distance on pavement? Will there be anyone going up towing there vehicle?
The reason I ask these two questions is that I have a delema with the type of trail tires I own, which really sucks for me in a way. I don't own a set of tires yet that I can travel both on the highway and go trail riding with, so I will have to bring a second set of tires and change them out when I get to West Branch. I can drive around town fine with them, but my set of 31" Mickey Thompsons are bias-ply tires and I have real trouble driving with these on the pavement for a extended distance if I have to drive over 40 mph do to the fact that I get death wobble effects. I can run my 33" Yokohama's on the highway, but the tread on these wears really fast and I would like to keep these tires around for as long as I could since they don't make these tires anymore and I don't have $500 to go out and buy a new set of tires.
Hate to sound like a pain in the ass, but this is what I have to I am stuck with at the moment. I hate having to trailer my tires every time I want to go out wheeling outside of Genesse.
Mudviper, This run will be mainly on 2 tracks. We might hit a total of 15 miles of pavement all day. Mainly to jump between trails. There will be no reason to go above 40 at all.
I plan to trailer my jeep up if i have it done in time. If not i will be driving the jeep up.
Mud Viper get a set of Goodyear MT/R thats what I'm running and they work great for a DD and off road. They like rocks too LOL

Ok thanks.. Was just trying to figure out which set to bring and what to do with my tire carrier. Think my 33's might weigh to much to stack all 4 tires on my tire carrier, so I will give the Mikey's a try.

I would like to get a set of 31's or 32's that I could use as DD tires, but will not have any funds until March. I have 3 kids birthdays this month, buying costumes and Christmas coming I am pretty much pennyless...lol.
I have a set of 30' Scorpions that I use right now if I need to run long distances, but there is hardly any tread left on them.
WoW :o 30' tires. how much lift do you need to clear those? or do they stick out from the body like tractor tires?

If you are going to wait till March let me know I found out a buddy of mine can get new 12.5x33x15 Goodyears or BFG I'm not sure which ones for like 75 a tire. His brother in law races dirt track or some chit and he is sponsored so he gets a new set every week. The only thing wrong with the tires is the edge of the lugs are rounded. His season doesnt start back up till March so if anyone needs a set of 33's ......

I wouldn't mind camping, but don't think the kids would be to thrilled with the frigit night temps.
well the temps have been so up and down we dont know what it'll be like i would expect colder oh there is electricty and a outhouse its primarly a hunting cabin tons of room for campers and tents though we had it logged 2 years ago
Wow, I totally misread this thread. I was thinking it was a Saturday. Thats a bummer. I won't be able to make this one. I have to work Sunday night. I wasn't at the meeting so I don't have a say for this one. Was the day of the week up for a vote? It would seem that Saturday would be better as it's a weekend day that most people don't have to work the next day. Sorry, just my opinion. Have fun on this trip and be safe.
Basically i was going to be busy Saturday and i was going to go on Sunday and others said they would go also.
BTW i think Paul Hittie and i and maybe others plan to go wheel some that Saturday morning i believe.
May have to make that Saturday afternoon - seems I signed Jonathon and me up for Cub Scout popcorn sales at KMart for the morning. I am trying to weasel out of it.
Quote from: "Nosilla"BTW i think Paul Hittie and i and maybe others plan to go wheel some that Saturday morning i believe.
id be up for sat. too
What time you thinking Paul?
If I can get out of my Cub Scout committment, I can go in the morning. Otherwise probably not until after 1pm.
ok just let us know
We are leaving Lapeer around 4pm on Friday....anyone who would like to camp on our property in Atlanta is welcome. I think we might do some trails around there on Saturday, and have a bon-fire Saturday night. What is the plan for Sunday?
I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to make it or not. Depends on whether or not I can get my tranny in sometime during the week (doubtful) or next saturday... IDK.. but nothings going right at the moment. -_-

I am not going to be making the trip to west branch :-( I found out that another guy has the time off.
Is West Branch Saturday or Sunday now?
Sunday the 21st
Julie and I Plan on being there for this event. See you all there!
Ed
:D
good to hear. see you then Julie and Ed.
2 (and 1/2) Q's:
1. Will there be a caravan out of neil's so as to go up in a group? If so what time?
2. Are we goin' wheeling Sat morning or afternoon? (paul, weasel-boy, let us know!!!)

I need to do the cub scout thing on Saturday morning. They did really well last night at the mall (thanks in part to our favorite adopted aunt!), and he is really excited about doing it again next weekend. Sunday I'm good, Saturday I would have to try and sneak it in between cub scout popcorn sales and dinner w/family in the evening.
Saturday the 20th is a bust for me...gotta work. If you guys go up Sunday, let me know...I'm game.
Quote from: "Nosilla"Sunday the 21st
Walmart in west branch on sunday the 21st @ noon. Right? I'll be there
JSG that is correct. If you guys want to meet up that Sunday morning to go up together thats fine. lets just pick a time. We could pull out of my place say 10 AM.
I would mind having some people around since this will be the first drive with the trailer.
I"m coming from the Jackson area, which is about 1 1/2+ hrs from flint. I wouldn't have a problem meeting you where ever along the road. I just need a time and address & we'll be there.
Guy
I will PM you My address.
Thanks & see you there Neil!
Guy
I plan on leaving some where around 9 -9:30ish. Have to get up there early to change my tires out and I have three kids to drag up there.. Hmm how many potty breaks will there be on the way up...lol.
I have OBA so that will make it fast.
Is Lee going to wheel the new truck?
Yep. He'll be right behind the Focus :o
i really cant make it up there, i dont see my p.o.s. makin it and im way too tired of fixin it and ridin with smelly tow truck drivers
way off topic, but Brian, any chance you were out in Davison last night? Out Harlys and Matts way? If not, I seen the twin to your XJ, arrow and all!
Hmm...
Any chance I could ride along with someone if I can't get my Jeep going by then?
-Brandon

Saturday I am tied up until 2:30, and need to be home by 5. Birthday beers at Bugsy's/Shamrocks Neil?
I think we might be able to do that Paul. I will get back to you in the next day or so. I know Rachel had plans for me in the morning though. Then i still need to find time to take the trailer out for a short run. I want to drive like 20-30 miles with it with the jeep on it before Sunday to make sure everything is good to go.
gonna put training wheels on it to make sure it is tip proof? Sorry, couldn't resist.
We need to figure out if we are willing to keep our poor little puppy in the kennel all day in order to make this run. We never thought about the fact that he is an attention whore and probably will make himself sick while we are gone.
But, he needs to grow up sometime, doesn't he???
