i am not a welder...i have people do that!
as it turns out, the tow hook that i do have has a grade 8 on the front and a grade 5 on the back....the other side would have been exactly the same...
the grade 5 either pulled the threads out or unthreaded itself (kinda hard to tell with all of the mud on it...i haven't torn into it).  the grade 8 bolt sheared off ::ouch::
again, i'll be redoin' tow points before i wheel again....

ps..where was that big POS FORD?     ::poke::  we could have taken it for a dip
