Tech Talk / Got the LJ Safari Top on my Jeep.
July 06, 2007, 04:08:50 PM
Heres pictures. Note its not tightened down in the back all the way yet, so its sagging in the pics. I really dont know if I even put it on right to begin with though. I dont have any directions or anything, so I was just wrapping the straps where I thought they should go. I've taken it down the road at about 65 or so already without any problems, so at least it works. :D

Also, due to the fact that the newer TJ's/LJ's have thicker pads, I had to put foam around my front roll bars so it would tighten down properly:

As you can probably tell, I can't see a damn thing out the rearview mirror, and with my doors off its very difficult to drive. I tried rolling it up and tightening it down,  but I'm here alone and I couldn't pull it off by myself. I dont know if I'll be able to roll it up at all. Everytime I did it would pull out when I tightened it down.

I'm gonna probably end up taking it to someone who can cut it and sew it shorter, but for now its fine.

Tech Talk / Re: No snorkels for 2.5L 4 cyl?

Oh really? Most of the Jeeps I've seen seem to be 4cyl's... But that doesnt really mean anything.

Thats what I thought, but I'm wondering why they dont market them towards the 4 cylinder?

Tech Talk / No snorkels for 2.5L 4 cyl?
July 06, 2007, 10:52:24 AM
Looking through Quadratec, all the snorkels they sell are specifically labeled for the I-6's. They dont have any (that I can see) for the 4 cylinder engines. The airbox is setup the same for both vehicles, same area and everything, so why is it so exclusive? Can the 4cylinder not handle taking air in through the extended tube?

Yea.. You forgot to post the kicker!

The police also told them that they hadnt found the drugs the guy had, and that it might be stashed somewhere in their garage and if they find it to notify the police.

I would be worried as hell that the guy is gonna try to come back for the drugs.

Sounds good. I had 4 days off work, and today was my first day back. I'm now a little back on my feet, haha. :)

That would work. The later the better. Me and Cody are both kinda scrounging for money right now. :D

Well... Cody and I will take it. He wants the red bars, and I want the pads, so consider it sold!

Tech Talk / Re: 35's...

Quote from: "longarm"For 33's the newer model Kuhmo MT's are the best for the $.  Affordable, great in the mud, and excellent street mannors.

Thanks for the suggestion. Those do look like great tires.

I was looking at either the Interco Super Swampers, the Trxus Mud Terrains, or the Mickey Tompson Baja Claws.

Hmm.. what condition are the pads in? Would you sell me just the pads? I'm missing some pads, and mine are somewhat... lacking.

Yea.. when a friend and I had to go to a few junk yards for Malibu parts, I asked them if they had any Jeeps and most people just about laughed at me. :D
