i have owned 2 they are fun and ride great but the amc v8 has issiues the oiling ports get cloged in the head making them only live for about 124k   both of mine blew at that there is a fix for it it requires machining to the head i would look for a zj they r nicer and way more reliable and plentiful

Funny should say that....I dropped the same exact bomb on Melissa this morning as I was walking out the door on my way to work this morning. I have always had good luck finding nice ones on Craigslist and eBay. Of course there is always WagonMasters....if you are willing to drop $30,000 on one  :o

We were looking at waggies when we stumbled across the 3/4 ton 'Burb.  In hindsight we should have held out for the waggie, way more style as a tow vehicle.

Wagoneers are sweet! My uncle had a late 70's model that we'd go off roading in on our trips to Arkansas!

Just remember, no swapping YJ parts for a J Truck body that won't bolt up to your Wagoneer frame, or any other new and uncharted swap territory.

Not bad....I'm a bit jealous. Looks like you need some new wood panelling, though  :D

true which i had a question since this is going to be my tow vehicle and i am gonna get something to wheel with if i was to get a lifted silverado would i still be in the club sicne i have a waggy? and be able to go to the events and take my waggy to trail cleanups?

Does it say "Jeep" on the fender?

One of the founding members drove a beautifully restored Wagoneer.  Of course I think we saw it once before he quit.

it says jeep on the front rear and i beleive the fenders but if i were to get a silverado and use the waggy to tow it to our mounds trips and such would i still be in the jeep club even tho i am wheeling a chevy?

members need to own  a "jeep brand" vehicle, nothing about it being your wheeling rig

the one problem we have had with past members (cough cough brandon) is that that most pick ups weigh a butt load and getting u unstuck may be a problem due to how lightweight a jeep is  why do u want a silverado ? they suck on trails and rocks due have a huge turning radius and are a pain to tow towing a pick up with a jeep is ass backwards wheel the cool waggy they are fun offroad

i understand about the me getting stuck part but i have seen some big lifted jeeps pull out a f250 in the ditch in davison....and i like the silverados sicne i have always loved chevys and my waggy is a tow vehicle not a wheeling rig, plus i am looking a at 78 silverado i think scottsdale, and the guy only wants a grand for it just bc its rusty

plus i wouldn't worry about having to pulll me out, im gonna be getting me a winch with it since he only wants a grand for it and i just have to get smaller tires to fit it on the trailer

you want the least amount of rust poss they are unit body meaning the body acts as a frame if its to rusted you will have structual problems like things flexing that shouldnt
