No stickers for Mitch?  I'll gladly buy them.  I'm not joining any clubs out here as I haven't had the time.  Plus, we may be moving back.

Jeep Talk / 2014 Cherokee?
November 19, 2013, 03:40:11 AM
Does anyone know anything about the new 2014 Cherokee?  Okay, I know some of the old timers in here are gonna flame me for asking that, so bring it on!  :) ;D  I still have the XJ, don't plan on getting rid of it.  Actually, Joshua will be driving it in a couple of months.  Uggg, how time flies.  Were looking at a small SUV or car that is somewhat frugal on gas and has AWD.  The roads out here get slick with all the rain and the limited snow and ice. Stephanie want's something in an automatic that she can happily drive.  We were looking at the Toyota Rav 4 and the Honda CRV and even the VW Jetta TDI (Diesel).  I saw the adds for the new CHerokee and I have to admit, an XJ it is not, but it looks promising.  A happy compromise if you will...  Hell, the Trailhawk version looks pretty darn impressive for something that's independent front and rear suspension.

Looking for opinions if anyone has driven one or knows anyone with one.  Thanks all!

There's nothing like Mounds Mud..........  I quit going because of the Got Mud crowd.  One of the last times that I was out there before I got rid of my LJ, there were peeps from that club smoking dope and drinking beer out there.  I didn't want to be around for any "accidents."

Wanted / XJ Roof Rack
September 13, 2012, 07:34:52 PM
I'm looking for an aftermarket roof rack for my 00 XJ. I was looking to stuff a spare 31" tire on it with a few duffel bags. Driving cross country need interior space. I don't care what brand it is. Thanks. It doesn't even have to be in the greatest of shape.  I can repaint it.  Everyone who knows me knows my fetish for bedliner anyway, LOL!

Parts For Sale/Trade / F/S Excalibur Wheel Spacers
September 13, 2012, 07:21:24 PM
Set of 4 Excalibur Wheel Spacers for sale $125.00.  I bought them from Unlimited Offroad last year.  I took em off my 00 XJ as I got new wheels and don't need them anymore.  They are 1.25" spacers for a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern.  They are perfectly fine and have all the lugnuts and everything they came with.

Jeep Talk / Re: snorkle
November 10, 2011, 02:22:32 AM
I am thinking about putting a poor mans snorkel on the wife's XJ after I lift it.  It will be a snorkel from a military hummvee.  it will be right next to the windshield and only stick out a little bit.

Tech Talk / Re: Lifting my wifes 00 XJ
October 26, 2011, 10:36:34 PM
Hmmmm, I was wondering about the 31's and bumpers after I posted that.  I had an add a leaf and a torsion twist on my old Explorer Sporttrac that had the factory Rancho Shocks (FX4 Package) with 31" AT's and it rode very nice.  The AAL shouldn't let the rear sag under the swing out and I can always ad a small spacer in the front I guess.....  If finances allow soon, I'm probably gonna go that route.  Then possibly in a year or two, I'll have an AAL f/s as I replace the leaf packs, get aftermarket control arms, ect........   ::gay::

Tech Talk / Lifting my wifes 00 XJ
October 23, 2011, 08:59:59 PM
HAHAHHA!  Yes, I'm still alive.  Yes, I have convinced my wife to let me lift her XJ.  Muuuuhhhhaaaaaaahhhaaaaaa!!!!!   Sorry I haven't been around, been working my tail off.    Her suspension is about done since I have brought all our wood home in log form in the back of the XJ.  I was gonna just get some coil over shocks, but decided to do it right.
How's this sound;  BDS 3" Coil Spring system w/ an add a leaf.  Does anyone else have this system?  It's just under $600.00.  I want to know if it rides smooth.  If it's a ruff ride, my wife will neuter me.  It's not gonna get any serious off-roading done.  It will see some trail riding with the club when I'm not working.......  I had to promise no serious off-roading like I did in my mistress.

The kit says it will fit 31" tires.  I was thinking 30" tires because I want to allow for some sag when I put on a front and rear bumper.  It's not gonna be anything like my baby, (God rest her soul).  Just a bumper to protect the front end from deer and a spare tire carrier in the rear with full size spare.  I'll probably go with BFG AT's or the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's again.

Ive done some work to her XJ already.  It's got a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, & accessory pulley.  All fluids have been flushed and replaced with synthetics.  Ohh, and the whole undercarriage was shot with P.O.R. 15.  It was virtually rust free anyway though, hoping to keep it that way as long as possible.

Sooo, opinions on this lift pretty please.  Anyone have pics of an XJ with 30" tires under a 3" lift?

I also heard that BDS is good.  I had Bilsteins on my old mistress and she rode like a caddy.  Well, an old, blown out caddy anyway.....
