Microsoft Publisher help needed

Staples called about our spotted cards - the file I gave them to use is 150dpi, she says I need to give her 300dpi to get smoother resolution.  She also suggested I use Publisher to convert to .pdf so she does not have to convert it and lose some additional resolution.  I looked everywhere, and my copy of Publisher does not have a setting to convert to .pdf, and I can't find the setting to increse the resolution.  Is it there and I am missing it, or do I need a newer/better version of Publisher?

Hmm.. you dont have to use publisher to convert to PDF. There are other programs out there..

What file type is the image in? jpg?
