Is there any chance that they can prove that it's mounds mud or that you did it?
JK, Doug.  Have you changed the fluid in yer trans?  If not, i'd do that first by myself and see if it makes any difference.  If you've done that before you took it to the dlrshp,  how much longer do you have on your warranty?  You'll need to think about how much your warranty is worth, what's covered, and the likeliness of them fixing anything correctly under warranty in the future.  If you have like 3 yrs of warranty, yer stuck and need to cough (er, up, gasp, gag) up the dough and get it fixed....if it's under a year left on a limited "warranty" i'd think twice before payin' them $700 -$1000 to fix it.
On the plus side, alot of places will warranty their work for the amount of time you own the vehicle....it may be worth it...

PS  whoever does the work, make sure and have them lengthen the vent tube so as to help keep some of the mounds out of your trans...

Good Luck...

Sounds like we are one in the same here man.

I bought my jeep with an auto in April, have a 12 month warranty, and have water in my auto cause the vent tube isn't long enough. To get it extended is $500 from Unlimited Offroad or from 2 Track Minds, or I could put a manual tranny in it for $500 and be done with it all and happier.

The auto trannys are weak as hell.
