My mother got the test results from the biopsy she had done on tuesday. She has breast cancer... They caught it in a very very early stage but she has to have surgury and maybe kemo.... :(
If you could, please pray for her, as I know I will be...
Thanks,
Cody

Same here Cody, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
My aunt is going through a reoccurance of breast cancer right now. We'll add your mom to our ongoing prayers and thoughts.
As everyone else said, please let us know what we can do. This is yet another reason why charitable causes like Riding for the Ribbon are so important.
We will keep her in our thoughts and prayers as well.
Frome what I see on a dialy basis, they can do a lot when they catch it early.
Our prayers are with you. At least they caught it early, the chances are so, so much better if you get it early. My old neighbor went thru this. tough times but all worked out, early catch also. once again are prayers are with you.

x2 let us know if you need anything
My mother had lymphoma 12 months of aggressive chemo, then later, breast cancer, twice, my aunt does now. My mom had a full lateral bisectomy, removing all breast tissue, and she didn't need Chemotherapy because they got it all. My aunt decided to go with just removing some tissue, so will need Chemo.
Cancer is surprisingly beatable, my mom always said the biggest factor was a positive mental attitude. Keep your mom positive and looking to the future, and she'll fight whatever life throws at her.
We'll keep her in our prayers too.
Just to let you guys know my best friend Melissa is being a Team Captain for Relay for Life and is selling Lunimers (sp) for $10.00, Tiki torches for $50.00 that you get to get and decorate yourself, and Feet that will be displayed at the hospital where she works for a $1.00. If you would like more information send me your e-mail and I can forward you her e-mail she sent me.
Julie
I'm so sorry to hear that Cody.. :(

x3, hope all goes well
Sorry to hear ... we will keep her in our thoughts !!
Any word on how you mom is doing Cody? I hope all is well. We have kept her in our throught and prayers.
She went for her MRI last night, apparently they have to wait 1 month after the biopsy so they don't rip the metal needle out from the magnets or something. She will find out tomorrow, as of right now its looking like within the next couple weeks she will be going in and having the lump removed, and they are gonna check some other stuff, then radiation.... Shes keeping high spirt and thanks everyone in the club for their kind words and prayers.
She is strong, I know she will be alright. I will post updates.
Thanks,
Cody
Update: My mom is doing good, thanks for all your prayers. She had an MRI and it didn't show anything else. She goes into surgery at 6am tomorrow morning. I will post updates as stuff happens...
Thank You,
Cody

That's good to hear. I hope all goes well. Keep us informed.
Very good news. Please let us know what happens. I'm sure everything will be just fine.
Well, She had her surgury yesterday, it went great. She is home now, and other than being sore, is doing wounderful. They doctors said everything looks really really good. She has an apt. with the radiology doctor and the khemo (sp) doctor in the near future.
I can not thank the club as whole enough for all the support, THANK YOU!!!
I will keep y'all updated.
Cody
good to hear bro
that's awesome to hear, Cody. We'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers, and you let us know what else we can do to help you out.
Very good news Cody. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Well I figured I would update y'all...
Turns out she has to have 6 months of Chemo followed by 3 months of radiation treatments.
Yesterday my mom went into surgery yesterday to have some ports installed, for Chemo and right now she is in extreme pain, she just got back from the afterhours er because it hurt so bad, they have her going in for another surgery tomorrow because whatever they put in shifted.
She starts Chemo next week, then its gonna be a long 6 months for her and the family :-(.
Thanks again for all your prayers,
Cody
Help her keep her spirits up. A good attitude does wonders. I've been there so I know what she and your family is going through. Your Mom and your family are in my prayers. Tell her to keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to.
hang in there, she'll be in our thoughts and prayers

Update:
She starts chemo tommorow morning. Instead of going through having her hair fall out, she got it shaved today and a wig. I have to be honest, it was hard seeing her in a wig...
She is doing great though, her spirits are high.
good to hear cody, remember, my wife does wigs too, im sure shell donate some time to do hers if she needs it
My aunt fought non-Hodgkins lymphoma for a number of years, including several different rounds of chemotherapy. All of them made her hair fall out to one degree or another, and I think she struggled with that as much or more so than the other side effects of the treatments. I think it's easier for men since we all assume we will lose some or all of our hair as we age, but tougher on women. Tell her to hang in there (you too!).
On a side note, my aunt's hair got curlier with every round, and since she spent most of her adult life using rollers in her hair she found this amusing.
Hope she does well Cody.
Still praying for her Cody. Just keep reassuring her that she will be fine and she looks great. Not a false reassurance, but sincere. My aunt went through cancer but has a warped sense of humor about it. Last Christmas she was passing around her wig for everybody to try on. So we were all taking turns wearing it, getting pics, and drinking beer playing cards, ect..... She was a real trooper about it. Your mom will be fine Cody, with todays medical technology, she will pull through.
Update...
My mom went into the ER yesterday after fighting with an infection for a couple weeks now. Right now she is in a room at Genesys, her white blood cell count is a little low and she had a 104 temperature. They are treating her and say the have the infection under control. Despite the fever, she is feeling a lot better than when she went in yesterday. They are keeping her through Monday at the earliest, and she finds out if she has to have surgery to remove the rest of the infection...
She is keeping a real positive attitude and I know she is strong and will get through this.
On a side note, the couch things in the rooms at the hospital are the most uncomfortable things to sleep on, I tried last night, lol.
Time for sleep...
Cody
She is in our thoughts Cody.
Make sure you tell her we are all pulling for her.

you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as well. I remember Chris saying those bench thingees were mighty uncomfortable as well. I wouldn't know, I had the bed
Keep us posted and let us know what we can do to help.
Yet again, spent the day in the hospital with my mom... This morning we were getting ready to go to eat with the rest of the family, she was sitting on the couch, looked out the window, started saying "they are here" over and over, crying and not responding to us, we called 911 she then snapped out of it. We have been in the ER since about noon. She will do good for an hour or two then have another episode... So far they have done a cat scan and blood tests, all came back clean... So far it is gearing towards a new medication they put her on a couple days ago...
It's really hard to see her like this, right now they have her in an observation room.
I will keep you updated, please pray for us...
Thank you for all the support...
Cody
We are all with you Cody.
continued thoughts and prayers headed your way. One thing I did when my dad was on all sorts of meds and kind of out of it was do lots of google searches on what they were giving him so I could ask intelligent questions as well as challenge the "standard lines" they were giving me.
Not sure it will help you, but it made me feel better and helped me understand why he believed he was in Florida in the mid 40's and telling me to "get out of the heat" when it was Christmas day in Michigan. It also helped me to cut through the crap the nurses were feeding me (not that it was their fault--they were doing what they were trained) so that I could finally get the doc to call me and talk turkey, if you will.
It sucks when a parent is "out of it" and you feel helpless. Let us know what you need and what we can do to help.
Even if you just need a place to get away from it all. We'll do our best.
Sorry that you are having to go through this . If you need anything let us know .....

x2, we're thinking of you guys down here
First off, I thank this club for the support and kind words, its hard for sure...
Good news! She is home. They are almost positive it was the medication, and since early this morning / last night she has been fine. They did an MRI, EEG, Catscan, ect just to be sure, all came back A-OK.
Thanks again,
Cody
Quote from: "dbikers"That is GREAT news Cody! We're all glad to hear it!!
x2. Great News!
Glad to hear that Cody
Good to hear Cody. Keep your head up.
Thats great news Cody. Mel gave some great advice about researching different medications. If in doubt, don't take a doctors word regarding different drug interactions, ask a pharmicist. Both my parents are in the medical profession and have always said that.
