Quote from: "jeepgirl95"WOW!!! How AWESOME!!  Thanks for sharing those pictures!  My 3 year old thought they were really cool too!  ::woot::
Wheres the Jeep pictures??

Glad you like them. I have a few of the Jeep as well hanging around. My friend here has a bunch of us wheeling in Kigali on his camera....I am still trying to get those from him.

2" and 33s....while I was posted in Brazil:

Here is a couple, right after a couple of the Marines helped me install the second lift - went from 2" and 33s to 4 1/2" and 35s...sorry for the bad quality, but there was a storm blowing in and I was losing light really fast:

I'll have some more soon....I have been pretty lazy about uploading to photobucket lately.

Enjoy!   ::woot::

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone!

I posted a few pictures in the "pictures and videos" section of my house and my last safari in Akagera, if anyone is interested.

Thanks!  ::Jeep::

A lot of you were a little curious about where I am currently residing after seeing my intro. post, so I thought I would post up some pics of the last safari I went on in Rwanda. We went to Akagera National Park in Rwanda...a large nature reserve toward the Zambian border a few months back. It is about a two hour ride from my house. I am also posting a few pictures of my house as well....just for fun  :mrgreen:

My house (your tax dollars at work :mrgreen:):

View from my upstairs balcony:

Entrance to Akagera:

Zebra Crossing:

I basically walked right up to this guy to snap this pic:

Look close...there is a baboon in this picture:

We tracked this elephant for 3 hours until we finally found him:

Ok...there's a few to give you all a taste of my year in Rwanda so far.

Thanks and enjoy!   ::woot::

Quote from: "jeepfan1974"i just relized this was the april issue of jp so the article is probably a april fools joke they did a pretty good one a few years ago about 2 speed gear box's that bolt in place of were the brakes hook up that would make any axle into how the unimog axles are giving an extra 8 inches lift

Jeez...let's hope it was an April Fool's joke. The idea of them making cheap Jeep bodies and donating the proceeds to an organization that focuses on eliminating ORV land use is a bit agitating, to say the least.

Quote from: "Mudviper"Wow.. nice to meet ya and hope to be seeing you around. Would you like to trade jobs?  lol.  So how much is gas over there??  just curious

Well....gas locally is a little over $5 a gallon....about $40 gets me a little less than half a tank!  :o  Luckily, the Embassy lets the American Diplomats fill up at their pumps, so we catch a little break, but I still about $4 a gallon going that route.

Introductions / Hi...from Kigali, Rwanda

Hi...

A little about what brought me here:
My wife and I are currently working for the Dept. of State in the Foreign Service and are residing in Kigali, Rwanda working for the US Embassy here. We just decided today that we are going to quit this, as moving around every few years to a new Emabssy is getting old and we are going to move back to her hometown in Saginaw in about a year. So....I decided that a bigger panic than not having a job in year, would be not having a Jeep Club in a year. So, I went tooling around on the internet this afternoon and found you all!

A little about my Jeep past and present:
Since I am originally from MD, I having been a 3 year member of NOVA Jeepers (out of Northern VA), a past member of Maryland Rock Raiders, and was a past member of Blue Mountain Jeep Alliance (out of PA).

I honestly have had too many Jeeps to list, but I am currently running a 2004 Rubicon with a 4.5" RE Superflex and 35s with a whole lot of extras. It tears up the crappy roads in Africa, so at least I stay a little entertained over here.  :mrgreen: I plan to bring it back to MI after we leave here, so I will DEFINATELY be looking for some decent offroading as well.

Anyway....good to meet you all. I am sure I will be chit-chatting here over the next year before we head home. Hope to meet you all soon.
