I've only been to the mounds once, dont really know the trails or anything.

A guy from work might tag along on the 11th with a rwd buggy, he's got BFG mud terrains on the back, real low weight, coilover shocks, plenty of power, just wondering what mounds veterans thought of the idea, whether he might just get stuck a lot, or he'll be fine, or its a terrible idea

Anybody up for wheeling at the Mounds either Oct. 4th or 11th (both sundays)

It'd be me (2" Lift, 32" tires) and a friend (also on 32s) plus whoever else wants to go. I know I havent met anybody on here yet, but i'd like to and I'd like to get the jeep dirty as well.

Let me know if anyone is interested,

Ben

I had a 91 YJ for a while, make sure that you get the 4.0L Fuel injected engine, not the 4.2L carb...

I think they started the Fuel Injected 4.0L in 91 (correct me if im wrong on the year), so start there. Also from 92 on they had the safer "family roll bar" as opposed to the triangle shaped "sport" bar from the '91 and earlier. would make things easier in terms of the rear seat belts, but i didnt mind the sport bar, looked more old school.

I lived outside chicago and didnt have a hard top, the soft top worked fine in the winter, sometimes there was a slight fine snow that would come through the top, but it was an original top, about 13 years old, so as long as you get a newer top, it will be fine.

Loved my YJ, it died, if you want to wheel it, new leaf springs can make it ride like new, good luck finding one

Question is pretty much in the title,

Hello All,

Name is Ben and I used to have a 91 YJ (thus the user name) I currently drive a 98 TJ, mildly built.

Its got a 2" RE BB and I'm running 32x11.5 BFG ATs. The other stuff i've done to it are pretty much protection and keepin the powertrain going. 4.0L and a 5 speed.

Anyway, I'm from outside of chicago and have been wheeling plenty of times, mainly at the Badlands in Indiana and the Cliffs in Illinois. Looking forward to meeting some people out here and getting the jeep dirty
