it has been my experience that most folks, unless personally tied to someone to the site, don't post once the sign up  (regardless of what site it is).  You will often see names that are "new users" but are not tied to someone die after they sign in.  I guess we either need to PM them right away and invite them to get involved or watch the intro threads to make them feel welcomed.  I'm totally at fault for the intro threads because I don't check them.  I'll make a point to do so from now on.
