Ok guys and gals.  Here is what I am looking for that I need for my '06 LJ. If anyone has anything around they want to part with and needs some extra $ hit me up.

Nerf bars/rails so the wife can climb in after the lift without a ladder

Tail light antenna mount bracket for CB antenna.

31x10.50 15 BFG All terrain for my Spare

Spacers/budget boost if anyone has a spare set around

Quote from: "Harley"Was a good time Matt.  Glad to have ya around.  (even if ya have to live next door to a butt head)
what, are you guys neighbors?

  I will tell him that when I see him.

For those that didn't catch the conversation at the meeting, a good friend of mine that I met when I bought my house because he lives next door is an Eagles rider and a friend of Harley.

It was great meeting you all and look forward to wheeling with you when I finish getting the LJ up to par.

Still have to get my antenna mount and a new mic and mount for my 510 and get some mounts on for some D rings.

Of course I want to get my BB and shocks on too which also means I need bars at the same time so the wife can get climb in. I should just post up a list of what I need in case some members here need some $.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for helping A new guy feel welcome at the meeting Sunday.  It was a lot of fun to hang out and meet you all.  Although there were enough of you there that I will never keep the names straight (I am bad with names anyway so that doesn't help) it is greatly appreciated to feel so welcome.

To whomever offered to help with the spare tire situation (I feel like an @$$ for not remembering your name) let me know if you have what I am looking for and what you want for it.

Also looking forward to helping get the tub on the frame of a certain pile of parts in a barn. Just let me know when.

I checked out Jeeperzcreeperz and saw a couple of things that caught my eye.

Any thoughts on the Rought country Hydro 8000 shocks vs the Rubicon Express twin tubes?

Thanks guys.  I know I am going to replace all 4 shocks and my steering stabilizer even if I didn't do the lift just because they need to be replaced so I figured it would be a good time to do the lift as well.

I don't want to go over 2 inch because I know much above that can get into a lot more money not only in parts for the lift but other things that need to be replaced as well.

Any recommendations on places to get the best prices on the BDS spacers and the RC shocks? How much stiffer than stock are the RC's? This is my DD and we are going to be making occasional 1600 mile road trips so I kind of want to keep my kidneys where they are.

Jeep Talk / Budget Boost help
February 04, 2009, 12:09:03 AM
So yesterday I put my skid plate to good use on the LJ and decided I need to take it up a bit so I can get close to the same climbover capability of my previous shorter wheelbase TJ.  I know when I take it to the cabin or my dad's place in Tennessee I am going to get hung up at stock height. I don't need anything major so I am shopping for budget boosts.

With all of the options out there (and there are a LOT) I am looking for some advice.  Does anyone have any brand recommendations for a 2 inch lift? I am leaning heavily toward the "Budget" portion of the budget boost so I know I am looking at spacers. I am just curious if I would be better off to source my own shocks and get the spacers or pick up one of the kits with shocks included. If I source my own does anyone have any good shock recommendations? I know a lot of people are going to recommend OME but at $80 each that kind of stings the wallet right now. I am trying to stay as close to the $200 mark as possible but that is not set in stone if there is something decent for a few bucks more.

I am running 31 10.50's right now on stock alloys and might bump up to 32's in the future but don't really have a need for anything bigger so 2 inch should suit me fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Quote from: "Nosilla"Oh crap......I guess i should stop tossing those at people then.

That's what large ball bearings are for. Old biker trick.  I used to keep them in the left pocket of my leather for those "just in case" times when someone didn't get the message.

Quote from: "Nosilla"nope we have no idea what a wrench is. I have heard of them before though.

I think they are shiny.....

They are the things that you keep with you to throw at tailgaters, they are actually used to remove bolts and nuts, not just windshields of people behind you.

Thanks again for all the welcomes.

Wow, it looks like my place of residence has turned into the local guessing game.  Let's make it a contest and the winner or winners get the prize of installing my lift for me.    I just hope Harley and Nosilla are handy with wrenches.  ::poke::

Glad to be here, thanks for the invite. I plan on making it to the meeting as it is right down the road from me. Trying to see if Adam aka Motorbreath (the guy with the right hand drive JK) is going to be free that weekend as well.

I know he is still working on his garage project as him and his dad are restoring a 61 Chevy Biscayne. I planned on having a free weekend this weekend to do some wrenching on the LJ but the wife has different plans that involve a bathroom remodel. Maybe I can at least slip away long enough to wire my amp up and see if I can wedge my subs in until I get seperate boxes.

Hello all. New guy from Davison checking in.  Ouchman (not sure of his real name) hit me up on another forum and gave me an invite to pop in.  I have actually lurked here every now and then without joining.

I would also like to say thanks for the invite to the next meeting as the Eagles club is right down the road from me. It looks like I may be meeting a few of you in person.

Since I have no new pics I will post up the ones that I used on the other forum.

I picked up a black '06 LJ Dec 30th as I missed my previous '01 Amberfire TJ too much.

Here are some pics of the LJ (embarrasingly stock for now) with my buddies right hand drive JK.

Parked at work where I spend the majority of my days.
