Title: front axle locked up solid while driving
Post by: jeepfan1974 on February 01, 2011, 09:58:22 AM
so yesterday i was driving down the road slowed down to make a turn and the front axle locked like someone jamed a stick in the front spokes of a bicycle  so i tryed to go back and forth finally it unlocked and i limped it home  i removed the front diff cover and found it to be frozen solid  that is a first for me i guess driving in water up to the headlights at silver lake took its toll i had the breather mounted on the fire wall lol

Had that problem once had to use a torpedo heater to thaw out the axle so it would drain out haha

Might I suggest a more vigorous application of the suggested routine maintenance schedule?
