HAHAHHA!  Yes, I'm still alive.  Yes, I have convinced my wife to let me lift her XJ.  Muuuuhhhhaaaaaaahhhaaaaaa!!!!!   Sorry I haven't been around, been working my tail off.    Her suspension is about done since I have brought all our wood home in log form in the back of the XJ.  I was gonna just get some coil over shocks, but decided to do it right.
How's this sound;  BDS 3" Coil Spring system w/ an add a leaf.  Does anyone else have this system?  It's just under $600.00.  I want to know if it rides smooth.  If it's a ruff ride, my wife will neuter me.  It's not gonna get any serious off-roading done.  It will see some trail riding with the club when I'm not working.......  I had to promise no serious off-roading like I did in my mistress.

The kit says it will fit 31" tires.  I was thinking 30" tires because I want to allow for some sag when I put on a front and rear bumper.  It's not gonna be anything like my baby, (God rest her soul).  Just a bumper to protect the front end from deer and a spare tire carrier in the rear with full size spare.  I'll probably go with BFG AT's or the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor's again.

Ive done some work to her XJ already.  It's got a new radiator, water pump, thermostat, & accessory pulley.  All fluids have been flushed and replaced with synthetics.  Ohh, and the whole undercarriage was shot with P.O.R. 15.  It was virtually rust free anyway though, hoping to keep it that way as long as possible.

Sooo, opinions on this lift pretty please.  Anyone have pics of an XJ with 30" tires under a 3" lift?

The only thing I would be concerned about is the  Add-A-Leaf... Never had any experience with them but I heard they make for a stiff ride.

Welcome back!  This is the first time I've posted in forever as well!

I have heard the same but no personal experience with the aal.  One of the guys that comes up from OH runs 31s on 3" of lift, looks good and he wheels it hard with no issues.  He has both a bull bumper/winch and rear bumper w/swing, 80 or 90k dd miles without sagging issues.

Hmmmm, I was wondering about the 31's and bumpers after I posted that.  I had an add a leaf and a torsion twist on my old Explorer Sporttrac that had the factory Rancho Shocks (FX4 Package) with 31" AT's and it rode very nice.  The AAL shouldn't let the rear sag under the swing out and I can always ad a small spacer in the front I guess.....  If finances allow soon, I'm probably gonna go that route.  Then possibly in a year or two, I'll have an AAL f/s as I replace the leaf packs, get aftermarket control arms, ect........   ::gay::
