I wouldn't do anything but maybe replace your battery I didn't even do that when I installed my winch and 4 kc's on the yj and I haven't done it on he jk either they both where fine

I am at four years on my original battery and, though I've only had the winch for the last year, I've had no problems so far... I was thinking of upgrading to the optima yellow top when it is time for a new battery, but after reading the above listed article, I will probably go with the Die Hard Platinum - it actually out performed the optima on most of the tests, listed as $20 cheaper, and has a 48 month free replacement warranty and 100 month pro-rated limited warranty! (As opposed to 3 year warranty on the optima)
