CB Radio Install for WJ (2004 Grand Cherokee)

I utilized the "Cubby" that used to be the ash tray on pre-2004 WJs and installed my Cobra Ultra 19 radio.  The lower section of trim is only snapped into place, took a large flathead screwdriver and pried each edge and it popped out.

Took and cut the lower half and bottom out of "cubby" and slid the CB in,  drilled hole for the thumb screws to hold it into place, wired it up and "snapped" the trim section back into the dash.

Now I just need to get the antenna mounted.

I need to do something like that in Jane's Jeep.  Will take a look at it at the Trail Maintenance weekend.  We are just using a hand held at this time.

We bought a small Cobra (19? from Walmart) and it fit right in the YJ center console, it was an aftermarket one but not specifically built for that purpose.  Totally out of sight, mounted a remote speaker under the dash, and hung the mic cord on the side of the

Looks like it was designed right in the panel... nice job!

Ended up going with the "Door Jam" style mount and it worked perfect!
