Events / How long is the actual trail ride
October 02, 2007, 08:52:09 PM
For the color tour trip?  I have a potential member asking me how long the actual trail ride is going to be.  An hour, hours, all day etc.

His wife hurt her back recently and is trying to decide wether or not to do the trip.  If they are going to drive all the way to Gaylord and then hit the trails they are afraid it may be too much on her back.  Are the trails very bumpy or bobble head like, or are they smooth?  (like the Mounds entrance or not?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have never done this trail run either.

Thanks and I look forward to your replies.

Pictures and Videos / Washed it and found this......
September 09, 2007, 03:38:09 PM
During the rescue I was told my front tires quit turning.

So I just started washing the Jeep and I found this......

These are preliminary pics of what I think is the reason I had such a hard time crawling out of the hole.  //www.whatliesbeyond.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=238

We also think the axle shaft on the passenger side is broke inside the tube.  We won't know until we open it up.

Pictures and Videos / Private Property Wheeling
September 08, 2007, 10:25:09 PM
So I went out to Mt. Morris to my buddies property to wheel.

Nothing much.  Nice track for the quads and the dirt bikes, a little water hole.

There was this one spot that they nick named the ditch line.  I found out why.  Looks are deceiving.

So a chain, a winch and a snatch strap later it finally took 2 Jeeps, my 1 Ton Doge Mega Cab Dually and my 9500ti winch to get me out.

Don and Eli gave it their best shot.  Don broke a chain, and Eli lost his winch.  Finally Jeff, Eric, and my wife pulled me out.

Thanks Jeff & Eric from 2 Track Minds Offroad and to Don for having us out to his property.

Here are some pictures of the adventure.  Video is coming tomorrow.

LITTLE HOLE:

LOOKS ARE DECEIVING:

SNATCH STRAP BROKE:

THIS DOESN'T DO THE HOLE JUSTICE:

SO VIDEO IS COMING SOON.  THANKS FOR LOOKING.

Pictures and Videos / Exo-Cage VIDEOS from Labor Day.....
September 06, 2007, 11:03:52 AM
So here is the story.  I had this idea of putting some video cameras on the ZJ and the best place to put them was under the Exo-Cage.  Except for one and that was just for a different view.  I placed 3 cameras around the ZJ as a trial.  I used generic low end cameras just for testing purposes.   Next time I will hook up the audio and put a few more on like underneath and such to get some different views.

Here are some videos that I was able to finish.  I had to sacrafice quality to get them uploaded anywhere.

I will have more coming soon.

#1.  Going through the water in the Scramble Area cautiously.......

#2.  Running Around

#3.  Small Rescue

There are more to come.

Thanks for looking and enjoy,
Anthony

Spotted and Sightings / Maroon Jeep at Cemetary
August 20, 2007, 06:55:32 PM
Off of Hill and Center about 9:30am.  It was in the parking lot at the Cemetary when I drove by on my way to Muffler Man to get the cut-outs cut out.

I think it was Alice's Jeep but not sure.

It had a "What Lies Beyond" sticker on it.

While at the Truck & Jeep Fest in Canfield Ohio, Jim Allen and Denis Snow from Off-Road Adventures Magazine stopped by and asked if we would be interested in doing a photo shoot.  Of course we said yes, we would be honored.

Here is a pic of our way out to the shoot.  It was in a remote part of the fairgrounds designed specifically for the magazines to do their photos.

At the shoot:

Gary showed up with his Monster Bus and Kent from Peterson's to do a shoot.  I convinced Gary to let me crawl his tire.  The grass started to give but I got up pretty far considering.

Denis told me if I made it up that I would have to leave it there so he could get more shots.

I had a blast.  Once in a life time opportunity.  The pictures if picked will show up in the issues between November 2007 and January 2008.

For more great pictures and information of this event and the photo shoot please go to:
